To become a Mercenary in Mount and Blade Bannerlord, achieve Clan Rank 1, gain at least 50 Renown, then speak to a Noble or Lord from the Faction you want to serve and enter into the service of that Faction. Once you do this, you’ll become enemies with any Factions with which your current Faction is at war with.
Exactly, AWOIAF doesn't allow you to merc for the nights watch. . You can obviously still basically be a merc for them by following them into battles, defeating wildlings yourself, etc. good place for early game tbh. produno AWoIaF Developer • 6 yr. ago. Or in 3.5 you can freelancer for them. Not quite the same though.
Ykalon 13 years ago #13. The bug would be him not firing you as a merc as soon as you attack his castles, what you should have done BEFORE you started that was talked to him and asked to become a vassal. A Vassal can get cities, castles and villages, a merc can't. Chief_Defender 13 years ago #14.
1. Recruit mercenaries from towns. You'll have to sneak in, and it'll be a pain if you get caught since you'll be off against 5~6 guards, while you only have a staff and a stack of throwing daggers. (0 power throw can still 2 hit the guards with headshots.) Mercs are expensive, so that's something to note as well. 2.
In the unmodded game, you can still rejoin a different faction or support a claimant in order to end your current faction. However, there isn't a way to return to being unaffiliated. You probably just need to make peace and raise your standing with one faction until they offer you the chance to become a mercenary again. Share.
