Location. Las Negras, Almeria. Sep 11, 2016. #2. If you can find a 6-speed that will fit your block, you will be doing well. But if you can find a gear-change linkage that will change all those 6 speeds without getting cross-legged, you will be doing even better! Beware! The 1929 TD engine is a very good engine indeed and I would stick to that.
As Nick Fisher has said earlier, this type of fault is not to be expected for a Comfortmatic transmission in a low-mileage 2015 Ducato. (Presumably) another large bill is on the horizon - for a timing-belt change - so any financial assistance from Fiat regarding the gearbox fault should be welcome.
Fiat 5th gear I was advised to travel the initial five miles with cold engine, in 4th gear, to allow oil to be "splashed onto" the fifth gear before it is engaged. Also had Tunit electronic device fitted, which is a big help in getting up the hills in fifth gear. Our m/hme is 04 vintage,34000 miles on clock, and never any bother so far.
Hi guys. I want to change the gearbox oil and I watched a few Youtube videos. They all say that refill is through a breather with a black plastic cap on the top of the gearbox next to the air filter but mine does not seem to have the breather. I looked around the gearbox underneath and found the sump plug to empty it (8mm allen key).
Nov 6, 2023. #7. Changing oil more often than annually / 10,000 miles is wasteful and not environmentally friendly. Assuming this is a motor home with less than 5000 miles a year and must of that in long drives (>1 hour) I would suggest changing oil and filter every two years is adequate.
The important thing is the spec. From 2005 fiat recommended "Synthetic-based oil, grade SAE 5W-40 that passes ACEA B4,API CF and FIAT 9.55535 specifications". Easy to get a 5w40 acea b4 cf oil. If you want the fiat spec too you have to double the price. e.g. shell helix ultra, castrol edge, castrol magnatec c3, fuch titan, total quartz and a

The Comfort-Matic transmission was first fitted to Ducato when the 'X250' range was introduced in mid-2006 and was a 'robotised' 6-speed manual gearbox. Only vehicles with the 3.0litre motor could have Comfort-Matic until 2012, when the transmission became available for Ducatos with 2.3litre power-plants.
